Time to mock up the rear suspension..We decided to go with the Heidts hot rod IRS..Real nice set up, very quick to modify to fit our project and the tunable characteristics are great..

We went with the 56” hub to hub measurement. 3:50 gear ratio currie center section..

We opt to go with a slick pedal cage produced by kugel hotrods..In order to use such a race inspired cage, modifications were in order..Smoothing the firewall was very quick and simple..With this set up.We were able to go with a power booster wilwood master cylinder package and a wilwood hydrualic clutch master cylinder as well.

Front firewall and cowl assembly was the next to be replaced..The front aprons and radiator support were replaced also.

Here’s one of the best front suspensions we found on the market today..TCI’s IFS was the slickest front set up and the easiest to install..power rack, wilwood 12” disc, adjustable coilovers..this will go great with our plans to use heidts IRS.

1 piece floor was use to make the car whole again..Inner rocker panels were rotted..we felt this was a perfect time to utilize the space found in the rocker panel..We went with a 2”x2” 3/16th wall tubing as a frame connector..Nice and hidden from rear torque box to front torque box..

Now its time to start removing rusted and unusable sheet metal…Tail light panel was the first to go and passenger side wheel house, quarter panel..The trunk divider was then carefully removed for the new 1 piece trunk floor to be installed..Right here was very important to take measurements and brace accordingly.Once the trunk divider is removed, you will have nothing more than the quarter panels holding the rear frame rails from shifting or bending…Measuring and bracing are always a must with any major body reconstruction..Measure twice cut once!!

Work on the heavily rusted 69 has started. Car was dismantled then media blasted to find the hidden treasure you would always find on a mustang..After inspection of the body we found inner rockers were gone,the inner and outer cowl panel was rotten, floor rot was known from the get go…The laundry list grew to a large list of sheet metal replacement parts.
